Bina valid BIS jeweller registration ke gold jewellery sell karna BIS Act 2016 ka violation hai — penalty ₹2 lakh tak aur/ya imprisonment.
Hallmarking process: Jeweller apni jewellery Assaying and Hallmarking Centre (AHC) — BIS authorized testing centre — par bhejta hai. AHC piece test karta hai aur HUID (Hallmark Unique ID) assign karta hai — 6-alphanumeric unique code jo har piece par individually laser-engraved hota hai. Consumers HUID se BIS Care mobile app par piece ka purity verify kar sakte hain.
New BIS Hallmark (from July 2021): BIS logo (triangle shape) + purity in fineness (585/750/916/999) + HUID 6-alphanumeric code.
